Artificial intelligence has quickly become a divisive, hot-button issue; there are many differing opinions on how it should be used. However, a team of 70 people in Nashville, Tenn., is on a mission to use the technology to convert the entire Bible into musical form.

What started as a passion project by 28-year-old Micah Fiechter to turn a single Bible chapter into music for his father’s sermon quickly became something they and many others would bond over. After completing the hit, Fiechter assembled a team and continued to do the same for the entire Bible, spanning a variety of musical genres.

"Dad asked if I could work on 1 John 4, and it sort of just went from there," Fiechter explained.

After just a year of work, the progress is incredible: Fiechter stated that anyone can now listen to the entire Bible in 11 styles using his app, Music Bible. The songs cover the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation and can be heard in country, hip hop, jazz, pop, rock and workout music. And yet, not one word of Scripture has been changed.

Additionally, as it currently stands, the app has more than 30,000 songs and is described as "the world's first complete, unedited, verse-by-verse Bible in song app."

The app currently features three genres in Spanish, but more versions are soon to come.

When asked what this project means to him and the future of the gospel, Fiechter noted, “What's unique about Music Bible is that we don't edit the text at all. We don't change Scripture to fit music; we change music to fit Scripture. The Bible was never meant to sit quietly on a shelf. It was meant to be heard. If someone can memorize the lyrics to a pop song, why shouldn’t they be able to memorize Scripture the same way? I don't want people to remember Music Bible; I want them to remember the Bible."

The Music Bible app can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android. See www.themusicbible.org for more.
