God wants us to live in contentment even when we're thirsty, and we don't know where the next drink will come from; even when we're in a situation where we can not imagine how God can make good come from it. Forget not His benefits, and remember the goodness of the Lord.
Father, we thank you for your word. Open our eyes and let us see ourselves in this verse. We ask you to reveal the word of truth that we need to apply to our own hearts, that the soil would be good soil; humble and ready to receive your good word so that it will bear much fruit.
Lord I pray that You would help us want to hide Your Word in our hearts. Help us to work on that, that we would be able to recall the things we have memorized years ago from Your Word. Help us to hide more and more of Your Word in our hearts.
Do you love God's Word? Are you convinced it's your daily bread and life source? Love His Word, cling to it, and that priority of yours will keep you from stumbling in many, many ways.
I know confrontation can be so hard, but if there is someone in your life that God is impressing upon you to confront about a habitual sin that's taking them down a path of destruction, I'm praying that God will give the discernment, courage, and wisdom to address that with compassion.
Peace grows as our minds become increasingly anchored in the one we trust. So when you notice that your thoughts have wandered again—and they will—you don't have to be frustrated with yourself. Just bring them back to God.
Father, I thank you for the choice that you've given me to choose life or something else. But I'm choosing life. Your word promises that if I choose to stand in agreement with you and what you say, everything will change. And I trust you! Help me to stand on the truth of your word until I see the victory.
Through this story, Jesus revealed in a vivid way how he responds to our most egregious rebellion and our most scandalous acts. He endured the public humiliation of the cross and took our sin and shame upon himself to free us from both.
You can live with freedom because you trust that God is who he says he is. That is the beauty and simplicity of the gospel. He is trying to share that with the religious elites; God desires mercy, not all these laws and hoops to jump through.
Father, thank You for Your covenant of peace that You have spoken over my life. Lord, I declare peace in my heart; I will not be troubled by the strength or success of others because You are my strength. Use me as your instrument of strength to help the weak around me.
Dear Jesus, thank you that you take pleasure in our respect and awe for you. Thank you that through your steadfast love, your promises do come true. Help us to hold onto that and hide those truths in our hearts. In your Name, Amen.
